That Awkward Size: 12.5

I wear an awkward size. Especially in air maxes. My feet are too wide and long for size 12, and a little too short for size 13. Yes, that means I wear the dreaded and impossible to find size 12.5. Yes, impossible. Look around, you won’t find many, especially in runners. Try this. Head to ebay and search for nike air max. I get 24,000 hits. Now lets narrow it down. Select auctions only. I get 2000 results. Not bad, not bad. Now narrow it down one more. Select size 12.5. 10. Ten sneakers. That’s it. And if you “dig” through that long list, you realize 7 out of 10 aren’t even runners worth discussing. Granted, the Nike SB Irons aren’t anything to sneeze at. Great kick.

So it is thanks to footsoldiers619, andrejs3009 and sneakertique that us size 12.5 heads have something worth wearing. I plan on winning these Nike Air Max+ Lime Greens. So ignorant. So awesome.

And that’s it. Rough. Size 12.5 heads need more love.

Try wearing a size 16…. Air maxes don’t even COME in that size. I think I’m just gonna buy a size 15 and take the insole out.

The “remove the insole” trick has never worked for me. Just feels wack. If it works for you, I’d be psyched.

Dude we wear the same size shoe. I have a hard time finding 12.5 too.

I wear 12.5 too. This is why I haven’t bought new running shoes in 5 years. I’m not going to spend $150 on shoes unless I can try them on.

As a teenage, I wore 11.5, then my foot flattened to 12, now 12.5. I look forward to aging a little more so I can start wearing 13.

You’ll get there one day, dude. I find myself wearing lots of size 13 sneakers. It’s just easier that way.
